Welcome

Join us in Barcelona and explore with us how AI is impacting University Lifelong learning.

Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we live, work, and learn. As AI continues to redefine jobs and reshape the global job market, the demand for upskilling and reskilling has reached unprecedented levels. This seminar explores the profound implications of AI for lifelong learning, focusing on the opportunities and challenges it presents.

In teaching and learning, AI is unlocking new possibilities. Chatbots and virtual assistants can provide instant feedback, answer questions, and offer personalised guidance to students. Adaptive learning platforms use AI to tailor educational content to individual needs, ensuring more effective learning experiences. Lecturers can employ AI-driven tools to streamline administrative tasks, analyse student progress, and enhance their pedagogical strategies. These innovations not only improve efficiency but also create new opportunities for personalised, student-centred education.

However, this potential is not without risks. While AI can foster inclusiveness and accessibility, it can also exacerbate inequalities if misused. Ethical concerns surrounding AI’s application in education—such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the right to education—demand our attention. Regulation will play a crucial role in ensuring that AI systems used in education uphold equity, fairness, and ethical standards.

Together, we will explore the pivotal role of lifelong learning in navigating today’s rapidly evolving world, with a special focus on the profound impact of artificial intelligence. AI is already transforming how we learn, teach, design, and deliver education—offering new opportunities for learners, educators, and training providers alike.

Join us as we reflect on these challenges and imagine a future where AI and lifelong learning could work in synergy to build a more inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable society.

The seminar will include:

  • Keynotes from experts
  • Workshops
  • Demo sessions
  • World Café
  • Poster session

The Call for Contributions will be launched in the coming weeks.
